Seven Safety Golden Rules allowed R&P POLYPLASTIC to achieve zero level of accidents

.

In August 2021, R&P POLYPLASTIC will be celebrating its 30th Birthday. This is a great opportunity to monitor the changes that took place in the company since its last 25th Anniversary.

Reduction of industrial accidents. Within the last 5 years industrial accidents rate at both production plants has been at the minimum level – in Engels the injury frequency rate was only 1,9% (0,2% of all employees were traumatized) while in Togliatti there were no accidents.

“Production plant in Togliatti reached zero level of accidents in 2013 and since then has been able to maintain it. We are aiming for the same rate in Engels. Our main goal is to reach zero level of industrial accidents in accordance with the Vision Zero concept in reliance on 7 Safety Golden Rules assuming conscious responsibility of industrial safety of all production process participants”, says Alexander Pavlov, Director General of R&P POLYPLASTIC.

Notwithstanding that R&P POLYPLASTIC has not officially joined the Vision Zero concept its Golden Rules are already implemented at the company’s production plants. In 2020, the company purchased individual protective gear (respirators, masks, ear protectors and noise shrouds, eye protection shutters and gloves) as well as workwear worth 6 million Rubles. R&P POLYPLASTIC also pays for physical examination of its employees and provides milk on a regular basis.

Particularly much attention is given to staff training as one of the elements of safe labor system: instructional advice takes place on a quarterly basis for industrial workers and every half a year for the Engineering and Technical Service. R&P POLYPLASTIC is also investing in education of employees, in 2020 the total amount of investments was 2 million Rubles, almost 30% higher than in the previous years. Cost escalation is primarily connected with increase in the number of training programs.
