R&P POLYPLASTIC aims to speed up localization in auto industry

Recently, the amount of composite materials from POLYPLASTIC delivered to the production of vehicles has significantly increased. As of today more than 12 000 metric tons of materials from the local compounder have substituted some of the most valuable imported analogs. These statistics had been delivered during the “Composite materials from R&P POLYPLASTIC for Renault-Nissan-AVTOVAZ alliance" - a conference that took place on Wednesday. 

Among top issues discussed during the conference in Togliatti was the topic of deep localization in the perspective of new WTO regulations that will take force in July 2018. The current situation where imported materials are being supplied duty-free to European plants operating on the territory of the Russian Federation breaches WTO regulations. This has been the case for the last couple of years, as European plants in Russia are still a novelty. Although, according to an earlier announcement and in accordance with agreements signed, all duty-free provisions on auto parts (imported from Europe) will be canceled in July 2018. This measure will lead to prices soar up if a counter-provision – a localization process – will not be set in place. 

The Research and Production Enterprise POLYPLASTIC organized the event, intended for consumers in the automotive industry. Specialists from the industry of production and recycling of plastics presented their reports at the conference. Specialists from R&P POLYPLASTIC presented in details information about the company’s innovations and properties of its composite materials, which are fully competitive with foreign analogs.

A delegation from the Renault-Nissan-AVTOVAZ alliance actively participated in the course of the discussion. According to Mikhail Katsevman, head of science and development at POLYPLASTIC, such a high attention was no surprise. The country’s most popular auto brand asserts itself as a major player in the international market, thus it participates in all major events “AVTOVAZ was able to overcome the crisis without severe losses. We are sure that the prognosis from Mr. Maure for 2018 – the auto producer will increase its exports up to 75% – will surely be delivered” – thus commented Mr. Katsevman
