.

On January 27, 2016, in Moscow, R&P POLYPLASTIC – Russia’s largest supplier of polymer composite materials – gained a certificate for production of anticorrosive materials for surfaces of wide diameter pipes utilized in the oil and gas industry.

Specialists from R&P POLYPLASTIC had developed compositions based on Russian raw materials. This will make it possible to substitute imported materials for insulation of steel pipes – trunklines – thus reducing projects expenditures, currency dependence and the risk of import supplies decrease.

The total amount of investments to the project will be 10 million euros. The company had been ranked in a federal list of enterprises that have made a significant impact on the industry and trade. Thus, in 2015 R&P POLYPLASTIC received a subsidy from the government to compensate funds that were credited to finalize this program.

In the end of 2015 surface materials of polyethylene compositions such as Torlen PE-2K and an adhesive Armobond GF-2K had successfully undergone certification evaluations in specialized institutions of Gazprom and Transneft.

The managing partner of POLYPLASTIC – Andrey Menshov commented: “More than 10 mln steel pipes are produced in Russia annually, and production of wide diameter pipes for trunklines with a high export potential. The piepe market, estimated at around $1p bln, is an important move to develop our company. The import substitution course and the unfortunate state of Russian market  create a good environment to realize our ambitious goals on the market that has been traditionally dominated by foreign computers.
