R&P POLYPLASTIC and Faurecia signed a document on joint efforts for CO2 emission reduction

.

The companies will synchronize their activities in systematic and progressive reduction of carbon footprint. The leading Russian compounder supports its partner’s intentions to reduce collective emissions by 45% by the year 2030. R&P POLYPLASTIC will make its contribution to achieving this goal,

“Faurecia announced its plans to reduce collective emission. Respectively, partners of this global producer of vehicle components who share sustainable development goals with Faurecia will be taking part in the project. For us it is very important to become part of the program as our company pays great attention to protection of the environment in its corporate social responsibility initiative", says Alexander Pavlov, Director General of R&P POLYPLASTIC.

Alexander Pavlov noted that direct emission of CO2 at R&P POLYPLASTIC is very low and does not exceed 12,6 metric tons per year. However, the definition of carbon footprint includes other aspects, for instance, electric power consumption, which plays a prominent part in forming greenhouse gases. Since 2018 the company reduced electric power consumption by 4% at a rate of kWh/1 tn. Work in this direction is essential for R&P POLYPLASTIC.

In 2021, R&P POLYPLASTIC together with Faurecia will start working on reduction of CO2 emissions: the company will structurize its policy in decreasing carbon emission and modernize the process of data accumulation based on factors influencing the formation of carbon footprint together with studying international best practices. “Starting from 2022 we will create KPIs which we will be striving to achieve. As the leader of Russian compounding industry we must be the captain in the process of conserving our environment”, – noted Alexander Pavlov.
