R&P POLYPLASTIC took part in the 4th Forum of the Association of Plastics Processors

.

At the forum with international participation, which took place on February 2, participants discussed the current situation and development prospects of the plastics procession industry in Russia, problems of raw materials supplies and human resourcing. However, the central stage took issues of environmental risks: 8 reports of the total 13 addressed this forum.

The main topic was not chosen by chance: issues of recycling and green technologies are becoming increasingly relevant for the plastics processing industry. On the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin by 2030, 25% of products made of polyethylene-terephthalate and 10% of products made of polyolefins must be produced with the use of recycled materials. The government is willing to provide support including fiscal packages. That is why at the moment Russia is working on incentive mechanisms for plastics processors and producers of raw materials. This should be done by May 31, 2021.

“It is important to make this mechanisms as effective as possible carefully studying the issue from all sides. We should turn to the experience of foreign countries and extrapolate it to our reality.   During the Forum specialists from Italy and USA will share their experience within the strategic session “Ecological risks and trends of the plastics procession industry development in Russia””, said Mikhail Katsevman, President of the Association of Plastics Processors (APP) and Head of Research and Development of R&P POLYPLASTIC.

The Council of APP is planning to create a working group to develop a set of stimulus measures within the framework of implementing the instruction of the President of the Russian Federation, which will include industry representatives knowing the situation from the inside and capable of offering a whole range of working mechanisms for fulfilling the objectives and their further discussion in the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
