Within the framework of Extrusion Russia conference organized by industry magazines “Plastics” and “Extrusion” Mikhail Katsevman presented a report: “Compounding as a base technology for developing polymer materials for innovative sectors of industries”.

According to the speaker, compounding is a core technology providing the opportunity for expanding the range of material characteristics to the level of innovative development almost in all industrial sectors. It is also an instrument for diversification of application areas and discovery of new technical solutions.

As an example, Head of R&D of R&P POLYPLASTIC Mikhail Katsevman presented the company’s newest developments paying particular attention to biodegradable compounds. World consumption of biodegradable plastics is developing at higher rates while its annual growth rate exceeds 30%.  That is why R&P POLYPLASTIC being the leader of the Russian compounding industry could not stand back from this international trend.

The speaker also told about the main trends of the compounding industry. “In the coming years, annual growth in consumption of compounds will continue to have a level of 3 – 5%, however, demand for recycled materials will rise substantially. Localization as a measure of national protectionism will be the main driver of growth on the Russian market,” said Mikhail Katsevman.

The POLYPLASTIC team shall continue its work within the business program of “interplastica 2020” as well as on the company’s booth C26 in Hall 1.
