.

Director General of R&P POLYPLASTIC Alexander Pavlov shared his views on the development of foreign sales of polymer compounds within the 3rd Forum of the Association of Plastics Processors which took place in Moscow on June 20-21.

The speaker particularly mentioned that export potential of Russian polymer industry is hindered by high prices for domestically produced raw materials and energy resources while the quality of Russian compounds is highly competitive with their European alternatives.

“In 2018 prices for main raw materials continued to rise. Currently Russian block copolymers on FCA terms are more expensive than their alternatives from China and even Europe. This has a negative effect on the compatibility of Russian compounds on the international market”, noted Director General of R&P POLYPLASTIC Alexander Pavlov.

Among the factors, negatively affecting the development of the export market the speaker also mentioned the deficit of the brand assortment of raw materials and low quality of Russian main raw materials.
